Procrastination, Anxiety, and Fear
Video editing can be overwhelming.
Facing Obstacles
Obstacles to success can often be (at least in my case) myself. Most of the time I hold myself to unrealistic expectations and will not settle for anything less than perfection. This, however, is completely irrational and only adds to the already mounting pressure from each project.
When I was a therapist, I remember some advice I used to give to clients - pick out one brick at a time; do not look at the entire wall of bricks or else you will get overwhelmed. Applying this to editing, then, is to set small goals for each day. It can be as little as just sorting through 5 clips of footage, or scouting for some music to use in your video; just do SOMEthing. Before you know it, you will have completed the entire project.
